Pakistan football team striker Shahlyla Baloch dies in Karachi car crash


Shahlyla Baloch was a professional footballer she played as a forward for the football balochistan United club, and the Pakistan National Women’s team. Shahlyla started playing football at the tender age of seven and immediately received FIFA’s youngest player award. Ever since then, she did not back down. Winning the best player trophy thrice (2009, 2011 and 2013)


She died on 13th Oct 2016, according to her sister “Raheela” the accident took place in Defence phase 8 in Karachi when the car struck against a pole.Baloch was the first Pakistani woman to score a hat-trick abroad during her stint in Maldives. She represented Pakistan at the 2014 SAFF Women's Championship in Islamabad, which was the last international event that Pakistan women’s team competed in. She made the score sheet in Pakistan’s 4-1 victory over Bhutan in 2014 SAFF Women’s ChampionshipHer older sister, Raheela Zarmeen, also a former player is now associated with the national women football team as a manager. Their mother, Senator Rubina Irfan, has been the chairperson of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Women’s Wing.
